Born in Poland in 1923, Michael Weinstein arrived in Australia in 1950 and quickly became an administrative leader in the sport. He started as team manager of the Melbourne Hakoah Club and was a foundation member of the Australian and Victorian Associations.

Bob Telfer migrated to Australia in 1927 from Wishaw in Scotland, and settled in Adelaide, South Australia. He made his mark on the game as a player, coach, referee, manager of international and state teams, administrator, soccer writer and editor.

Arthur Gibbs

Arthur Gibbs emigrated to Australia from the United Kingdom in 1884 and immediately founded Victoria’s Anglo-Australian Football Association. A member of the Melbourne Prahran club, he was the foundation secretary of the Association until 1887.

John Watkiss

John Watkiss came to Australia as a ten-year-old and developed his skills in Sydney's Canterbury area under Joe Vlasits. He transferred to APIA and created a then-scoring record of five goals in a match, against St George in a final at Sydney's Wentworth Park.

Ray Richards

Ray Richards arrived in Australia in 1963 and played in Brisbane and for Queensland before moving to Sydney in 1969. A brief spell with Croatia gave way to Marconi in the same year and he stayed with them till 1978, which included three seasons as player/coach.
