Born in Yugoslavia in 1960, Milan Ivanovic quickly displayed an affinity for soccer. As a youngster he worked his way through local clubs before joining leading Yugoslavian club Red Star Belgrade.

Colin Bennett

Born in Australia in 1950, Col Bennett was signed by the Brisbane Lions for the inaugural NSL season. He made his debut as a defender, playing each season in full until 1983. Bennett was a powerful and uncompromising player who evolved into a fine all-round defender.

Born in England in 1956, Gary Cole settled in Melbourne where he was a striker for Ringwood City in the State League. In 1977 he joined Fitzroy where he scored 11 goals in the NSL's inaugural season.

Steve O'Connor

Born in Sydney in 1954, Steve O’Connor joined Eastern Suburbs-Hakoah where his height and physique marked him as a central defender. He played in winning Easts sides until the NSL was formed in 1977. The club went on to win four of the first six league titles.

Roy Crowhurst

Theresa Deas

Goalkeeper Theresa Deas from Victoria debuted for Australia during the 1980 Test series against New Zealand, holding her place in the Australian goal for almost ten years. Solid and reliable in goal, she was an outstanding communicator on the field.

David Harding

Peter Gray

Born in Australia in 1942, Peter Gray spent 41 years in Australian soccer as a player and administrator. During the 1960s he played nine years as a goalkeeper for a number of NSW Soccer Federation clubs.

Ken Allen

Born in England in 1941, Ken Allen arrived in Australia in 1973 and settled in Canberra. Allen was appointed to the National Referees panel in 1975 and went on to enjoy a successful career as a referee until he retired in 1991.

Vito Cilauro

Born in Italy in 1930, Vito Cilauro migrated to Melbourne in 1957. During his long career Cilauro was club delegate to the Victorian Federation and served as State League chairman from 1976 to 1988.
