Ken Murphy

John Constantine

Born in Cyprus in 1946, John Constantine came to Sydney in 1954 where he began playing soccer at Enmore school. He went on to represent Western Districts at three age levels before joining Apia and Pan Hellenic.

Basil Scarsella

Born in Adelaide in 1955, Basil Scarsella has enjoyed a long and successful involvement with Australian soccer. Scarsella began his senior playing career with Campbelltown City club in Adelaide where he was eventually made a club Player Life Member.

Charles Caruso

Born in Italy in 1934, Charlie Caruso emigrated to Australia in 1950. His involvement in Adelaide soccer saw him become president of Juventus club from 1972-80 and president of Adelaide City from 1983-91.

Doug Rennie

Born in Scotland, Doug Rennie emigrated to Australia in 1961. He played for Pan Hellenic and Sydney Austral before joining Nepean referees association in 1964.

Bill Vrolyks

Born in Holland, Bill Vrolyks emigrated to Australia in 1945 with the Dutch Air Force. Starting at the Sydney Austral club, Vrolyks transferred to Leichhardt Annandale for a total of 510 first grade matches.

George Wallace

Long serving administrator George Wallace was born in England in 1926. Before migrating to Australia in 1970, Wallace was a referee and administrator.

Les Broadbent

Born in 1936, Les Broadbent began his long career in refereeing in 1973. Broadbent spent eight years as president of the AASRF and six years as Queensland AASRF president.

Sid Grant

Newcastle born Sid Grant worked for 36 years as a soccer writer for major Australian newspapers. A former NSW Association president, national selector and national team manager, Grant also served as Australia’s unofficial soccer historian from 1928.

Eric Heath

Born in England in 1925, Eric Heath’s playing career included selection in the 1950 tour to New Caledonia. Following retirement, Heath switched to administration, going on to become a Foundation Life Member of the VSF, Patron and Trustee.

Bob McShane

Born in Glasgow Scotland in 1915, Bob McShane arrived in Western Australia in 1925. He played with Margaret River before the family moved to Perth, where he spent 60 years working in soccer. McShane retired in 1952 and turned his attention to refereeing.

Arthur Roberts

Born in Newcastle in 1920, Arthur Roberts began his refereeing career in 1947. Over the next 30 years he toured with overseas teams, cup and grand finals.
