The Westfield Matildas enter their penultimate training camp in Gosford tomorrow in preparation for two international friendly matches against New Zealand on May 12 and 15.

The Westfield Matildas enter their penultimate training camp in Gosford tomorrow in preparation for two international friendly matches against New Zealand on May 12 and 15.

Following four intensive camps at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra, Westfield Matildas Head Coach Tom Sermanni has reduced his 34 player squad down to 26 players for this camp before selecting his final 21 player list for the FIFA Women-s World Cup 2011 at the end of the month.

Sermanni will be carefully observing his team during the camp including their two match Trans Tasman series against the Football Ferns before having to reduce the squad prior to the team-s final Australian training camp in June.

With star striker Kate Gill now unavailable for World Cup selection following surgery on her Anterior Cruciate Ligament last week the final places for the Westfield Matildas squad will be fiercely contested over the next seven days in Gosford from 9-16 May.
