Sam Kerr scored her 100th Chelsea goal as she returned to competitive football for the first time since December 2023 on Sunday.
Emily van Egmond and Caitlin Foord were also on the scoresheet in the WSL, while Daniela Galic continued to make her mark in Sweden as she scored the winner for Vittsjö.

England
Manchester City were made to work for it, but two second-half goals saw them defeat Brighton & Hove Albion 2-1. Khadija Shaw and Yui Hasegawa were on the scoresheet as City overcame Fran Kirby’s first-half goal. Mary Fowler was unavailable for City as she continues her rehabilitation from her ACL injury.
Four second-half goals saw Arsenal defeat West Ham 5-1. Caitlin Foord was one of four goal scorers as the Gunners overcame an early deficit to finish with a statement win early in the season. Katrina Gorry played the full game in midfield for the Hammers while Foord and Steph Catley started for Arsenal. Kyra Cooney-Cross was an unused substitute.

Sam Kerr had a perfect return to competitive football as Chelsea defeated Aston Villa 3-1. Kerr was introduced with 15 minutes of regulation time remaining, and with the Blues leading 2-1, the game was still in the balance. She sealed the three points with a goal in stoppage time when she managed to bundle the ball home after a corner. Ellie Carpenter played the full match for Chelsea at wing-back.

Leicester City defeated Liverpool 1-0 despite playing with ten players for the majority of the second half. After a scoreless first 45 minutes, it looked like the Reds would take the upper hand after Shannon O’Brien was sent off in the 56th minute. However, three minutes later, Emily van Egmond scored her first goal for her new club to lift the Foxes to their first win of the season. Van Egmond started before being withdrawn late in the second half.

Manchester United were clinical against London City Lionesses, defeating the newly promoted side 5-1. Melvine Malard scored a brace as the Lionesses struggled to keep United at bay. Alanna Kennedy started for London City before being withdrawn in the second half.
Tottenham Hotspur continued their perfect start to the season with a 2-0 victory over Everton. Goals either side of half-time, and a second clean sheet of the season, helped Spurs over the line. Clare Hunt was a central part of Tottenham’s defence again, forming what looks to be a formidable partnership with Toko Koga, and Charli Grant was a second-half substitute. Clare Wheeler started for Everton.
Sweden
Daniela Galic scored her second goal of the season in Sweden as Vittsjö GIK defeated Alingsås 1-0. It makes it three goal contributions in five starts as the 19-year-old has hit the ground running in the Damallsvenskan. She started and played the full game as Vittsjö looked to finish in the top half.
AIK Fotboll defeated FC Rosengård 2-1 as they go within a point of officially securing safety from relegation. Adelisa Grabus and youngster Nova Selin were on the scoresheet as AIK came from behind to earn three points. Jada Whyman played the full game in goals for AIK.
Kristianstads DFF kept themselves alive in the race for European places with a 2-1 victory over Växjö DFF. The win sees them in fifth place, seven points behind third but with one fewer game to play. Amy Sayer and Remy Siemsen both started for Kristianstads.
United States
NWSL
Two early goals for the North Carolina Courage saw them defeat Angel City FC 2-1. The result means that they are within one point of the playoff places. Cortnee Vine was a second-half substitute for the Courage.
The Portland Thorns drew 1-1 with the Chicago Stars. Olivia Moultrie’s early goal was cancelled out by the Stars’ Bea Franklin to earn Chicago the draw. The result means that the Thorns are clinging onto their fourth-place spot, but are even on points with the Wave in fifth. Mackenzie Arnold started in goal for Portland while Kaitlyn Torpey was an unused substitute.
USL
Morgan Aquino earned her sixth clean sheet for DC Power when they drew 0-0 with Lexington SC. Aquino made three saves in this game as her side remained undefeated to start the season.
Germany
Frauen-Bundesliga
VfL Wolfsburg defeated Carl Zeiss Jena 3-1 thanks to two late goals in the last ten minutes of regulation time. Sharn Freier was not named in the matchday squad.
Jamilla Rankin kept a clean sheet at centre-back as her TSG Hoffenheim side defeated Eintracht Frankfurt 3-0. The scores were level at half-time before a brace from German international Selina Cerci cracked the game wide open. Rankin started and played the whole game for Hoffenheim, while Hayley Raso was a second-half substitute for Frankfurt.
2. Frauen-Bundesliga
SC Sand defeated Turbine Potsdam 4-0 to get their season back on track after last week’s loss. Pija Reininger scored a brace in the comfortable victory. Alana Murphy earned her first start in midfield of the season.
Italy
Serie A Cup
AS Roma defeated Sassuolo 3-0 in the Serie A Cup to book their place in the semi-final. Roma were on the front foot early with two goals in the first half and didn’t let their lead slip in a morale-boosting victory. Winonah Heatley started and played the full match for Roma, while Jess Nash did the same for Sassuolo. Jacynta Galabadaarachchi was a second-half substitute for Sassuolo.
Como defeated Inter Milan 1-0 with a late goal from Alisha Lehmann saw them secure the upset victory. Alex Chidiac was not in the matchday squad for Como.
Serie B
Como 1907 defeated Lumezzane 2-0 in their first-ever home match in their new stadium. The result continues their positive start to the season. Chloe Berryhill was not named in the matchday squad.
Mexico
Former A-League Women’s player Lourdes Bosch scored the winner as CF Monterrey defeated Toluca 1-0. The result puts Monterrey into fifth and is challenging the top of the table. Emily Gielnik was a second-half substitute for Monterrey.
Canada
Calgary Wild were defeated 5-0 by Montreal Roses in back-to-back heavy losses. The goals were shared for Montreal as they solidified their place in second. Kahli Johnson was unavailable for Calgary.
