All Westfield Matildas AFC Asian Cup Matches Will Be Live On ABC
Their entire campaign will be broadcast on the ABC network, enabling the team to get maximum media coverage of their bid to bring the cup back from China. The fans will get to see every minute of every Australian match in the tournament.
Their final preparation camp will begin next Thursday in China ahead of the tournament which kicks off for the Australians on the following Wednesday.
The big clash for the Australians will be the final group match against China which is exclusively live on ABC2 and should they qualify, the semis will be on the 27th and again be broadcast live.
The squad also met up with surfing legend Stephanie Gilmore on their recent training camp (click icon for video) on the Gold Coast, which was a highligt for her and the players.
The fixtures are as follows:
Australia v Vietnam Wednesday, 19 May 2010 Chengdu Sports Center, China Local Kick-off: 3.00pm (5.00pm AEST) Match televised live and exclusive on ABC 1 / ABC HD
Australia v Korea Republic Friday, 21 May 2010 Chengdu Sports Center, China Local Kick-off: 3.00pm (5.00pm AEST) Match televised live and exclusive on ABC 1 / ABC HD
Australia v China Sunday, 23 May 2010 Chengdu Sports Center, China Local Kick-off: 4.00pm (6.00pm AEST) Match televised live and exclusive on ABC 2
The semi finals will be played on the 27th May and if Australia qualify, the match will be broadcast exclusively live on ABC2 at 6PM. (If Australia don't qualify there will be a delayed broadcast later that night at 10.15PM)
On the Sunday 30th May, if Australia are in the 3rd/4th place match then the game will again be shown exclusively live on ABC2 at 6PM. If they make the final this will be shown on Sunday 30th May at 9.30PM.
