Perth International Football Cup

Paris Saint-Germain were the victors of the Perth International Football Cup as they defeated Manchester City 1-0 in the final on Sunday.

City had plenty of possession and opportunities, but it was a late penalty for PSG that decided the pre-season tournament. Kerstin Casparij fouled Tara Elimbi Gilbert in the box in the 88th minute, which opened the door for Jennifer Echegini to score the game’s only goal.

The Foxes dominated the early stages of the game, leading by three goals at half-time and five by the 76th minute before Viviane Asseyi’s late brace made the scoreline a bit more respectable from a Hammers perspective.

The San Diego Wave came from behind to draw 1-1 with the Washington Spirit. Kristen McNabb scored at both ends, a second-half equaliser atoning for a first-half own goal to level things up. Despite Washington having more opportunities throughout the match, the Wave held on to earn a first point under new coach Landon Donovan.
