But it wasn’t a very different opposition three Sky Blues stars faced on Sunday ahead of the clash in Suzhou.

Ryan McGowan, Adam Le Fondre and Rhyan Grant held a special training session for 30 young kids from the local football community.

As part of the session, the three Hyundai A-League stars took on all 30 youngsters in a short match on a full-sized pitch.

And it was the locals who came out on top, winning 3-1.

“It was 30 against three which is something a bit different but the kids really enjoyed it,” Sky Blues defender McGowan told Sydney FC’s official website.

“But I think we probably maybe enjoyed it more than the kids did.”
