The 23-year-old had endured a six year wait to open his goal account but did so in emphatic fashion when he blasted a long range thunderbolt into the back of the net at Suncorp Stadium.
The cracking strike gave Brisbane Roar goalkeeper Michael Theo no chance as it rifled into the top corner of the net to open the scoring for the league leaders.
Unfortunately for the Sky Blues they were pegged back by an equally majestic finish by Dane Thomas Kristensen as the score finished 1-1 in what was undoubtedly one of the best games of the season to date.
