Leading EPL referee Mark Clattenburg will share his experiences of officiating at the highest level at a special event in Melbourne next week dubbed 'Beyond The Ref's Room'.
Clattenburg is Down Under to officiate during the International Champions Cup tournament featuring European giants Real Madrid, Manchester City and AS Roma.
The 40-year-old, who has refereed a stack of EPL and UEFA Champions League matches, will be speaking to around 200 referees about his thoughts of refereeing at the elite level.
“What a great learning opportunity for our grass-roots referees to listen to and understand not only what it’s like but what it takes to referee at the elite level,” FFA referee Coordinator Michael Bailey said.
“Mark will talk to them about all aspects of it, his knowledge, experiences, how he got started right through to where he is today.
“There’ll be a Q and A session as well where the attendees can ask Mark whatever they like about his experiences as a referee.”
Hyundai A-League whistleblower Jarred Gillett and J-League ref Hiroyuki Kimura will also be involved in this rare opportunity.
The event is free of charge and will be held at Mooney Valley Racecourse on Monday July 20, with Fox Sports presenter Michael Zappone as host.
