Titans FC and Bosco FC at ANZ Stadium!

25 children from Sutherland Titans FC and Bosco FC entertained the 40,000 strong crowd at half time of the recent Socceroos match against Bahrain in Sydney.

Wednesday 10 June 2009 was an important day for many people. At ANZ stadium in Sydney, the Socceroos were lining up to play against Bahrain. It was their first match on home soil since qualifying for their 2nd successive FIFA World Cup just days earlier in Doha, Qatar.

This night was also a once in a lifetime opportunity for 25 children from Sutherland Titans FC and Bosco FC. To reward their excellent work and provide them with an unforgettable experience, FFA selected these children to participate in Small-Sided Football at half time on the ANZ Stadium surface!

A special thank you to the children from Sutherland Titans FC, a club for soccer players with special needs and to the tireless volunteers who operate the club each week. This opportunity would not have been made possible without their work.

The children were afforded 12 minutes on the field and certainly made the most of their moment as they children combined to score 4 goals in two games that were played at either end of the field.

The crowd was kept entertained while the Socceroos were taking their well-deserved break and the children all had an experience they will never forget.

It was a rewarding experience for everyone involved and in these children we have some lifelong football fans.
