The Qantas Socceroos will kick off their bid for a third consecutive place at the FIFA World Cup when they play Thailand at Suncorp Stadium on Friday 2nd September. The fixture will be the first game between the two teams since the 2007 AFC Asian Cup preliminary round fixture which the Qantas Socceroos won 4-0.
Following the priority purchasing period for member of the Football Family, tickets for this match will go on sale from 9am Tuesday 16 August to the public and starts at $30 for adults and $75 for families.
“The first game on the road to Brazil will be significant, not just for the qualification points at stake, but to once again unite the nation behind the Qantas Socceroos in their monumental task to qualify for a third consecutive FIFA World Cup finals,” said FFA CEO Ben Buckley.
“FFA is delighted that we-ll start the journey in Brisbane, which is obviously a hot spot for football in the afterglow of the Roar-s Hyundai A-League Grand Final triumph and Matt McKay-s growing stature with the national team.”
The match will be the Qantas Socceroos first in Brisbane since they sealed their 2010 AFC Asian Cup finals berth in March last year.
