Telstra Football Anytime a hit on Central Coast
Telstra Football Anytime, came to the Central Coast for the first time last week with over 80 children participating in the 3 day, 6 session program.
Central Coast Grammar School provided an impressive backdrop and despite some wet weather the sessions focused on modified skills and small sided games to give children maximum participation, whilst maintaining a strong emphasis on fun and enjoyment.
The program was given great support from Central Coast Football Association and the Central Coast Mariners, who provided the participants with a fantastic surprise in having star players Adam Kwasnik, Matthew Osman, Coach Lawrie McKinna and former Qantas Socceroo Alex Tobin there help conduct the sessions.
For the majority of the participating children Telstra Football Anytime has introduced them to the sport and the experience has left them wanting more with many now seeking playing opportunities with local clubs for next season. It is planned that each football club will conduct these introductory programs very soon.
