Sydney FC v Perth Glory: match preview

A few weeks ago a clash between Sydney FC and Perth Glory would have seemed an easy win for the Sky Blues but it promises to be an intriguing clash in Wollongong on Saturday.

Ante Juric’s Sydney FC returned from the international break in style, getting some derby revenge with a 3-0 win over Western Sydney Wanderers.

The result not only proves the Westfield W-League Champions will not surrender their title without a fight but all-but secures a top-two finish and home Semi Final.

While finals football was out of Glory’s reach some time ago, the side from the west are finishing the 2019/20 campaign with a bang.

They followed their win over the Newcastle Jets last month with a 4-2 victory over Brisbane on Sunday to seriously hamper Roar’s finals hopes.

Bobby Despotovski’s side have found their mojo in attack, scoring eight goals in those two wins and are playing with a real swagger and belief.

Sydney FC won the previous clash between these two sides this season back in December, scoring three times in the first-half in a 3-1 success.
