Queensland Metro and NSW Metro have claimed the honours following the completion of the 2004 Qantas National Talent Identification Championships in Sydney today.

Queensland Metro were deserving winners of the Under 15 tournament having gone through all seven games in the tournament without conceding a goal. Two goals from Richard Greer mid-way through the game was enough to see off the spirited challenge of NSW Metro in the final.

NSW Metro were equally comfortable winners in the Under 16 tournament after topping their group without dropping a point. The home side winning the final 3-0 over Western Australia through goals to Tayfun Buyukkopru and Daniel Miller (2).

Torrential rain over the last 36 hours forced the abandonment of the playoff matches with the finals being moved from Valentine Sports Park to Hammondville Oval.
