The finalists at the Qantas National Talent Identification Championships have been decided on a rain-marred penultimate day of action. NSW Metro and Queensland Metro will do battle in the 15s final while NSW Metro will take on Western Australia in the 16s title-decider.

Torrential overnight rain forced organisers to abandon the multitude of play-off matches scheduled for today with only the two semi finals in each age group played after being moved to different venues.

In the 15s the two top teams from the group stage ultimately won through to the final after Queensland Metro defeated Victoria Metro 2-0, while NSW Metro were pushed to the limit before defeating Northern NSW 4-1 on penalties after scores had been locked 0-0 after extra time.

It was a similar story in the 16s with NSW Metro winning by the narrowest of margins when they defeated Victoria Metro 12-11 in an epic penalty shootout after having drawn 2-2. The upset of the day occurred in the other semi final where Group A winners Queensland Metro lost 4-0 in a stunning result against Western Australia.
