The penultimate day of competition at the Qantas National Youth Championships for Girls being played at Valentine Sports Park in Sydney has been completed, with two teams in each age category still vying to be crowned national champion.

In the semi-finals of the Under 16 age group, Northern NSW defeated Victoria on penalties after the scores were locked at 0-0 after extra time, whilst in the other match NSW Metropolitan defeated NSW Country 2-1.
The Under 18-s still has one round remaining tomorrow, with only NSW Metropolitan and Queensland in contention for the national championship with the home team holding a three point advantage.
Qantas Matildas Coach Tom Sermanni, and newly appointed Qantas Young Matildas coach, Alistair Edwards, will be on hand to present the Championship Trophies to the winning teams in the Under 16 & Under 18 age groups on Saturday.
