Senate Rd Sports Complex played host to the Pt Pirie JSA Optus Small Sided Football Gala Day, held on Saturday May 2nd. With approximately 80 eager boys and girls from the local region, children took part in two games consisting of 10 minute halves. With these great numbers, a weekly fixture will now be constructed.

Pt Pirie - with a population of approximately 14,000 people, forms part of the Iron Triangle, 2 hours north of Adelaide. The Association, which is school based and chaired by Peter Bellifemini, will be implementing the new small sided format as part of its grassroots development. In 2009, the Pt Pirie JSA celebrates its 40th birthday anniversary. With such a strong history, the future of Football for children in the region is in safe hands.

Special thanks to John (Jock) Spadavecchia for his time in organising and promoting the day. Thanks also to all participating schools for making it a wonderful day.
