Lions produced a comeback win over Perth RedStar on the road in their Round of 32 tie, when they found themselves 1-0 down after half an hour.

Andy Pengelly and Jake Minett scored late in the first half to give the side a halftime lead, and Luke Broderick and Alexander Fiechtner scored in the second period on a rain-soaked night in Western Australian.

This result continues the Queensland side’s scoring form, making it seventeen goals in five games including the Preliminary Rounds.

Lions also claimed the Queensland Cup over the weekend with a 3-0 win over Moreton City Excelsior.

A win on Tuesday would earn Lions their first-ever Quarter Final berth, having made it to the Round of 16 on three previous occasions prior to 2024.

The Wanderers’ fast start in the Round of 32 saw them get past Brisbane City 2-1.

Gabriel Cleur and Alexander Badolato scored within the first seven minutes to put the visitors 2-0 up but a late goal and surge from Brisbane City caused the Wanderers some concern before they ultimately secured their spot in the Round of 16.

Western Sydney featured plenty of their young talent in that game with the likes of Dylan Scicluna, Aydan Hammond, Jesse Cameron and Awan Lual all coming off the bench.

The side would equal their finish in the competition last season with a win and make it five appearances in the Quarter Final stage.

Hume City have netted twenty-five goals in their five 2024 Cup matches dating back to the Preliminary Rounds, making them one of the highest-scoring teams left in the competition.

However, it took until the 59th minute for the team to break down a valiant Darwin Hearts outfit in the Round of 32.

Once they did, though, they ran away with it as Josh Gulevski headlined with two goals.

Mickel Platt, Aamir Abdallah, Fletcher McFarlane and Karl Imanzi also all found the net in the 6-0 rout with Abdallah notching four assists.

City finished their NPL Men’s Victoria season in fifth, with an unbeaten run of four matches, and they carried this form into their elimination final.

The side edged past Heidelberg United on penalties after a 1-1 draw in regular time to advance into the next round of Victorian top-flight finals football.

But their opponents, two divisions below them, secured promotion to the Victorian Premier League 1.

FC Melbourne Srbija finished two points ahead of North Shine Eagles and will contend with a finals series as they pursue a league title in addition to promotion.

In the Round of 32 they went the distance in the only penalty shootout of the Final Rounds so far, edging past Modbury Jets 4-1 from the spot following a 1-1 draw.

Statistically, it was one of the most exciting games of the round, featuring the most shots of any match (39) and the joint-most saves (12).

The Victorian Premier League 2, soon-to-be Victorian Premier League 1 side, are the lowest-ranked team left in the competition in what is their first-ever Final Rounds appearance.

Hume City currently sit two divisions ahead of their opponents in the Victorian pyramid, but FC Melbourne Srbija have plenty of momentum to spring another surprise.

Olympic Kingsway were strong performers in the Round of 32, earning a comprehensive 4-1 victory over Edgeworth Eagles.

After going behind within six minutes, Joe Hobson restored parity half an hour later as the teams went into the sheds level.

Aaron Oppendisano’s own goal, followed by goals to Mitchell Oxborrow and Joe Knowles, sealed the result.

The visitors' slick performance continued their first-ever journey in the Australia Cup Final Rounds, adding to the NPL Men’s WA Premiership, they are set to claim.

Kingsway extended their lead at the top of the competition over the weekend with a 3-1 win over Balcatta.

An upset on Tuesday would be a significant feat for the West Australian club as they look to become the first NPL Men’s WA side into the Quarter Finals in the history of the competition.

Adelaide United were put to the test in the Round of 32 battling to a 3-2 win over Blacktown City in extra time.

Stefan Mauk opened the scoring for United, but a second-half equaliser from Travis Major ensured an additional 30 minutes was needed.

Well-taken goals from Yaya Dukuly and Luka Jovanovic put the side through despite a late consolation from Rueben Awaritefe.

James Delianov also made nine saves, the most of any goalkeeper in the Round of 32.

Adelaide has a good record at this stage of the competition making the Quarter Finals seven times in their history, and of course have three Australia Cups in the trophy cabinet.
