Perth Glory v Western United FC: match preview
Goalkeeper Liam Reddy will become just the fourth player to reach the 300-game mark in the Hyundai A-League when Perth Glory host Western United FC on Saturday night.
Reddy, who is the first gloveman to reach the magical 300 mark, may be 38 but is showing no signs of slowing down and has kept a league-high seven clean sheets in 2019/20.
The last of those came in last weekend’s goalless draw against Sydney FC, which has seen Glory’s winless run extend to four matches and dropping Tony Popovic’s side to fifth on the ladder.
While it’s far from panic stations for last season’s Premiers, it’s a poor run they will want to arrest well before the Finals Series.
Meanwhile, United head west in a buoyant mood having scored 11 goals in their last two matches – big wins over Central Coast Mariners and Adelaide United – to surge into the top six.
And there’s no reason why the goals won’t continue to flow in this one, with an average of 5.2 goals per game in Glory’s last five matches at HBF Park.
This match has been pushed back to Monday, 23 March, with a new kick-off time of 4pm local, 7pm AEDT.
