Patterson leaves FFA after five years’ service

Football Federation Australia (FFA) has today announced that the Head of Corporate Affairs and Communications Kyle Patterson will leave the organisation after five years’ service.

Patterson has taken a senior executive position with TEG Pty Ltd, Australasia’s leading ticketing, live entertainment and data analytics company.

TEG Group includes Ticketek, promoting businesses TEG Live and TEG Dainty, Qudos Bank Arena and TEG Analytics. Patterson will be Head of Communications and Corporate Affairs.

FFA CEO David Gallop said today that Patterson has made a huge contribution to the growth of Australian football and played a leading role in the game’s biggest and most important projects.

“First and foremost, Kyle is a passionate advocate for Australian football,” said Gallop.

“He brought deep insights into football and strategic thinking to FFA’s business. The Western Sydney Wanderers are probably the most successful start-up in Australian sports history and Kyle was there on day one to build the brand and sell the story.

“In the same way, the ‘We Are Football’ campaign united many football fans and helped deliver sustained growth for the Hyundai A-League.

“Kyle was a key contributor to our senior management team with a sharp eye on the issues and opportunities for the game. He can be proud of his achievements.”

Patterson’s portfolio at FFA has covered media, marketing, digital, government relations and events.

“It’s been an exhilarating five years for the game with many ground-breaking projects at domestic and international level,” said Patterson. “It’s was a privilege to be part of the Westfield FFA Cup launch and the rejuvenation of the Caltex Socceroos under Ange Postecoglou.

“It’s indisputable that football’s best years are ahead of us and David and the FFA management team are well placed to deliver the next phase of growth.

“My decision to leave comes as the new Board gets down to business under Steven Lowy and the new Strategic Plan is rolled out for the next four years. It’s the right time for me to move to a new challenge with TEG.

“I thank David and his predecessor Ben Buckley for giving me the opportunity and backing me all the way.”

Patterson will leave FFA later this month.
