Outcome of Independent Match Review Panel - Round 27

The independent Match Review Panel (MRP) – consisting of Simon Micallef (Chair), Alan Davidson and Alan Contini – convened to consider the following incidents from Round 27 of the Hyundai A-League 2014/15 Season:

1.  In or around the 66th minute of Adelaide United’s match against Melbourne City FC on Saturday 25 April 2015 an incident involving Kew Jaliens (Melbourne City FC) occurred. The MRP has the authority to consider the incident as Kew Jaliens was issued with a direct red card. The MRP confirmed that Kew Jaliens will serve a suspension of one (1) match, being the minimum sanction for the offence of denying the opposing team an obvious goal-scoring opportunity.

2.  In or around the 70th minute of Adelaide United’s match against Melbourne City FC on Saturday 25 April 2015 an incident involving Michael Marrone (Adelaide United) occurred. The MRP has the authority to consider the incident as Michael Marrone was issued with a direct red card. The MRP confirmed that Michael Marrone will serve a suspension of one (1) match, being the minimum sanction for the offence of serious foul play (when challenging for the ball).
