The independent Match Review Panel (MRP) - consisting of Simon Micallef (Chair), Alan Davidson and Alan Contini – reconvened today to consider the following incident from the Sydney FC v Western Sydney Wanderers FC (WSW) Round 2 match of the Hyundai A-League 2014/15 Season (the Match):
1. An incident involving Sasa Ognenovski (Sydney FC) in or around the 69th minute of the Match. The Player was cited by the MRP in accordance with the Hyundai A-League Disciplinary Regulations (Regulations). In reviewing the incident during this afternoon’s meeting, the MRP took into consideration the submissions lodged by Sydney FC. The MRP determined that the Player committed the offence of "Serious unsporting conduct" and imposed a one (1) match suspension, being the minimum sanction for such an offence under the Regulations. In accordance with the Regulations, the Player is ineligible to participate in Sydney FC’s Westfield FFA Cup match to be played against Adelaide United FC tonight.
