The independent Match Review Panel (MRP) – consisting of Simon Micallef (Chair), Alan Davidson and Alan Contini, convened to consider an incident from Round 14 of the Hyundai A-League 2014/15 Season.
In or around the 59th minute of Melbourne City FC’s match against Central Coast Mariners on Sunday 4 January 2015 an incident involving Tando Velaphi (Melbourne City FC) occurred. The MRP has the authority to consider the incident as Tando Velaphi was issued with a direct red card. The MRP confirmed that Tando Velaphi will serve a suspension of one (1) match, being the minimum sanction for the offence of denying the opposing team an obvious goal-scoring opportunity.
