It’s a crucial NSW Derby on Saturday night as Western Sydney Wanderers head up the M1 to take on a revitalised Newcastle Jets.
The Hunter club may be five points and five places below the Wanderers on the ladder but will probably head into this one in a more confident mood than the visitors.
Ernie Merrick’s side beat Western United 1-0 in their most recent match and have had a full two weeks to prepare for this one.
After winning their first three games, the Wanderers have picked up just one point from their last three, including a 3-2 loss at home to Melbourne City last Friday.
It’s not quite panic stations for the Red and Black just yet but another defeat here would undo much of the good work from earlier in the campaign.
