Newcastle Jets v Perth Glory: match preview

Only two points separate Newcastle Jets and Perth Glory on the Westfield W-League ladder as these sides prepare to jostle for position in the Hunter.

While the seventh-placed Newcastle are not mathematically out of Finals Series contention, many other results are required to fall in the Jets favour were they to win their final four matches of 2019/20.

Ash Wilson has been installed as head coach after Craig Deans took temporary charge of the Jets' Hyundai A-League team and the home side will be aiming to deny the Glory a first win of the campaign on Thursday night.

Bobby Despotovski has overseen a transitional season in Western Australia after the Glory fell in the 2018/19 Grand Final. Their youthful side travel west knowing a maiden triumph would see them overtake the Jets in the table.
