Minister for Sport, Recreation and Racing Hon Tom Kenyon today officially opened the National Paralympic 7-a-side Football Championships at Adelaide Shores, West Beach in Adelaide.

Football Federation SA is thrilled to host the Championships for the first time with South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland competing over four days.

Paul Brown, Australian Paralympic Football Team Head Coach states, "This is a very exciting time for Paralympic Football in Australia with new developing programs in Western Australia, Victoria, the ACT and of course South Australia.

The 2011 Nationals in Adelaide will be the perfect venue for the State programs to showcase new players from all around the country. As a major selection opportunity for the Australian National Paralympic Team some of these players will go on to represent their country at the World Championships in the Netherlands in June 2011."
