Milligan's dramatic relegation dogfight in UAE

Caltex Socceroo Mark Milligan has been involved in an eight-goal thriller in the latest round of top-flight action in the UAE.

The classy former A-League midfielder played a full 90 minutes for Baniyas in their 4-4 draw with fellow strugglers Emirates Club.

Baniyas led 4-2 with four minutes remaining before two late goals denied them what would have been a crucial three points in the fight against relegation.

Milligan picked up a late booking for Baniyas, with the result confirming the hosts' demotion to the first division next season with only one game remaining in the campaign.

Meantime, Oliver Bozanic played a full 90 minutes for Kofu in the latest round of the YBC Levain Cup competition in Japan.

But the former Mariners and Victory midfielder couldn't prevent a 1-0 home loss to Yokohama Marinos. 

Caltex Socceroos midfielder Milos Degenek didn't feature for Yokohama.

And Matt Jurman's fine club form continues in South Korea.

The former Sydney FC defender played a full part in Suwon Bluewings' third successive victory in the K-League Classic.

Suwon beat Pohang 1-0 to remain fourth on the table.

Fellow Australian defender Connor Chapman has also been a winner in Korea overnight.

The former Jets and Melbourne City centre-back started Incheon's 1-0 win away at Sangju Sangmu.

Chapman was replaced with five minutes to go as Incheon broke a four-game losing streak.

LEIJER

The former Victory defender picked up a yellow card in Suwon City's 1-0 loss away at Asan Mugunghwa.

It was a first defeat in five games for Suwon, who drop to fifth in the second-tier K-League Challenge.

Fellow Aussie Bruce Djite didn’t feature for Suwon.

Dario Vidosic has endured a difficult start to the K-League season with Seongnam.
