Melbourne Victory v Brisbane Roar: match preview
Brisbane Roar are climbing the Westfield W-League ladder and are chasing another scalp when they travel to Premiers Melbourne Victory on Friday.
Roar have claimed back-to-back wins over the last fortnight – including the thrilling 3-2 triumph over Adelaide United last time out - to sit just outside the top four.
Jake Goodship’s side appear to be hitting their straps, especially Westfield Matildas star Hayley Raso who has scored three goals and provided one assist in the last two games.
Victory are currently seventh but sit just three points outside the finals places.
It was only a late goal which saw them lose 1-0 to league-leaders Melbourne City last Thursday night and they’ll view this game as a must-win to keep their season alive.
The two sides have already met this season back in Round 2, with a Natasha Dowie double – and Casey Dumont penalty save – seeing Victory prevail 3-2.
