Mckain To Stay In Romania
In somewhat of a surprise move, Qantas Socceroo defender Jon McKain has remained in Romania and signed a three-year deal with Politehnica Timisoara.
McKain, who was keenly monitored by English Premier League Bolton Wanderers and Portsmouth at the recent Confederations Cup, has decided to move to the unfashionable Romanian club, basically because he wants to play under his former coach at National Bucharest Cosmin Olaroiu.
McKain has earned high praise in Romania for his performances as a central defender for National over the past two seasons and was expected to make a move to a more high profile league, where he could be noticed more and improve his chances for regular international football.
