Clare Polkinghorne was yet again on the scoresheet as Kristianstads DFF continued their fantastic form in Sweden.
Meanwhile, Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea picked up wins in the WSL while Kaitlyn Torpey made her return from injury in a much-needed three points for the San Diego Wave.

England
Defending champions Chelsea demolished newly promoted Crystal Palace 7-0 in the first game of the round. There were six different goalscorers as the Blues made an early season statement under new coach Sonia Bompastor. Sam Kerr remains unavailable as she continues rehabilitation for her ACL injury.
Manchester City defeated Brighton & Hove Albion 1-0 after they, like the Gunners, qualified for the UWCL group stages midweek. It was a goal to Khadija Shaw late in the first half that proved the difference between the two sides.
Mary Fowler was introduced into the game in the second half for City, while Alanna Kennedy was an unused substitute. Charlie Rule was unavailable for Brighton.
Manchester United scraped past Everton 1-0 thanks to a fourth-minute Grace Clinton goal. In another reasonably even clash, United’s quality eventually showed in the final result. Clare Wheeler started for Everton and played the full match in midfield.
A late winner to Riko Ueki rescued a point for West Ham against Liverpool. Olivia Smith scored in the 7th minute to give the Reds the lead, but the Hammers eventually found a way through. Katrina Gorry started and played the full match for West Ham in midfield.
Arsenal did just enough to get the three points against Leicester, with a second-half Frida Maanum goal giving them a 1-0 win. The Foxes made life tough for them during the game, but the UWCL group stage-bound Gunners got the job done in the end.
Kyra Cooney-Cross and Caitlin Foord both started the match before being substituted out in the second half. Steph Catley remains unavailable for Arsenal with a lower leg injury. Meanwhile, Courtney Nevin was a second-half substitute for Leicester.
Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa played out an entertaining 2-2 draw. Spurs took the lead thanks to a 23rd-minute penalty but late second-half goals to Adriana Leon and Rachel Daly flipped the game on its head. It looked as if Villa had done enough for all three points – until Bethany England’s 96th-minute header saved a point for the visitors.
Hayley Raso and Clare Hunt both started the game for Spurs, while Charlotte Grant was an unused substitute. It was Raso’s shot that led to the penalty that was won by Tottenham.
France
Lyon made light work of Strasbourg on the weekend, picking up a 6-0 win. Lindsey Horan scored a brace while five other goalscorers got involved in the action. Ellie Carpenter started and played the full match, picking up an assist for the second goal of the match.
United States
The San Diego Wave secured a much-needed three points as they defeated Portland Thorns 2-0 on the weekend. Second-half goals to Mya Jones and Melanie Barcenas helped the Wave advance to within six points of the play-off spots.
Emily van Egmond started and played the full match for the Wave while Kaitlyn Torpey played her first minutes since Paris, coming off the bench in the 60th minute after recovering from a lower leg injury. Mackenzie Arnold was in goals for Portland.
North Carolina Courage picked up a 3-1 victory over Chicago Red Stars that helped solidify their place in fifth. Goals to Denise O’Sullivan and Kerolin helped them over the line in what, on paper, was a match of even chances. Cortnee Vine was unavailable for the Courage.
Sweden
Clare Polkinghorne was on the scoresheet again as Kristianstads DFF defeated Brommapojkarna 2-0. They are now only three points away from third – albeit, Hammarby have a game in hand. Polkinghorne and Remy Siemsen both started for Kristianstads while Amy Sayer remains unavailable.
An early goal to Beata Olsson meant that AIK Fotboll picked up an incredibly important three points against Linköping. The result doesn’t quite put them out of the relegation zone but means that they’re equal on points with Örebro in twelfth. Jada Whyman returned from injury to play in goals and kept her first clean sheet of the season.
Denmark
FC Nordsjælland got back to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Aarhus on the weekend. The victory puts them back on top of the table after Fortuna Hjørring could only draw with HB Køge. Winonah Heatley started and played the full match for the side that she captains.
Netherlands
FC Twente got off to a fast start in their league campaign, three first-half goals meaning that they defeated Fortuna Sittard 3-1. Sophie Anna Maria te Brake and Nikée van Dijk were the goalscorers. Daniela Galic was an unused substitute for Twente.
