Paris FC v First Vienna

Paris FC got their season off with a bang, smashing First Vienna 9-0 in the Round 1 Qualifiers in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Mathilde Bourdieu scored a hattrick, Julie Dufour and Kessya Bussy scored braces, and Gaëtane Thiney and Daphné Corboz completed the nine-goal rout.

Sarah Hunter entered the pitch in the 74th minute to help her side see the game out.

They will take on Sparta Praha from Czechia on Sunday, 2am AEST in the second round of qualification.

FC Nordsjælland v SL Benfica

Wini Heatley's FC Nordsjælland were defeated 3-1 by last season's quarter-finalists, S.L. Benfica. The side from Portugal took a 3-0 lead going into the break.

Nordsjælland responded after the interval through Anna Walter to make it 3-1, however, couldn't turn around the result to advance to the next stage of qualifying. Heatley played the full 90 minutes and captained the side.

FC Twente v Cardiff City FC

There were six different goal scorers as FC Twente defeated Cardiff City 7-0 in their Round 1 Qualifier for the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

It was a comprehensive performance from the Dutch champions, who never looked troubled. Daniela Galic made her competitive debut for the club in this match, the 18-year-old coming off the bench in the 68th minute.

Arsenal v Rangers

Caitlin Foord scored four goals as the Gunners started their UEFA Women’s Champions League campaign with a 6-0 victory over Rangers.

The Scottish side did their best to frustrate Arsenal, keeping them to 1-0 at half-time, but the floodgates opened in the second half. Among Foord’s goals included a back post header and a stunning volley that bode well for the season ahead.
