Match officials ready for the Youth Olympics
16 of the best up and coming young match officials from around the country will converge on Sydney in several weeks time, after being selected to officiate at the Australian Youth Olympics later this month.
The Australian Youth Olympics is a celebration of the best young athletes around Australia and the world in a multitude of sports.
Football features this year with our next crop of Qantas Young Socceroos (Men's U20) and for the first time and Australian team at the Under 16 level for women, competing in the round robin tournament is to be held at Valentine Park, Sydney.
12 matches in all will be played over 4 days boosting the development of Australia-s young referees.
The International teams competing for the U18 boys and U16 girls are Japan, Korea, China and Australia.
The match officials, who ages range from 17-27, are selected from all over Australia and is a their first taste of international football.
