'Magic Man' Rogic rested and raring to go

In a fantastic sight for Caltex Socceroos fans, Tom Rogic has returned to the field for his club Celtic overnight, and he says he's rested and ready to go for the remainder of the season.

The talismanic playmaker has featured for the first time in four months, coming off the bench in his Scottish club's 1-1 draw with Partick Thistle overnight.

“It’s nice to be back,” Rogic told media after the game.

“It’s not been easy being out, but you have to deal with it.

“I’ve been working as hard as I can every day to get back as soon as possible, so it was great to get back out on the pitch,” he said.

This is timely news for the Caltex Socceroos ahead of the must-win World Cup qualifier in Adelaide with Saudi Arabia on June 8.

ROGIC CREDITS RODGERS ON HIS RETURN

Rogic’s Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers was glowing in his praise of the Aussie star when he named him in his matchday squad for the game.

“The magic man is back – what a player,” enthused Rodgers yesterday.

They then meet old foes Rangers in the semi-finals of the Scottish FA Cup.

“I’ve had my rest, there’s still a lot to play for this season and there’s no let up.

“We’ll keep pushing until there are no more games,” he added.
