Live Q&A event a great success
The first Q&A event on twitter yesterday afternoon was an overwhelming success. Westfield Matildas Head Coach Tom Sermanni spent 30 minutes before training answering questions from the fans live from Germany.
The first Q&A event on twitter yesterday afternoon was an overwhelming success. Westfield Matildas Head Coach Tom Sermanni spent 30 minutes before training answering questions from the fans live from Germany.
With more than one question being posted every minute along with multitudes of good luck messages Tom had to be quick on the keyboard to respond to as many fans as he could. It was a great way for football fans to be involved and share the experience, connecting directly with the Westfield Matildas.
Below are some of the questions that were asked and answered by Tom:
Sydney FC: How are the Sydney FC girls going? Tom Sermanni: Very well and likely to have a strong representation in opening game.
Robert Di Fabio: Amid growing media interest towards women's game in Australia and abroad, do players feel overwhelmed at all by experience? Tom Sermanni: No, players enjoy interaction with media and take it in their stride. They deal very well with distraction.
PenPaperSports: Dark horses of the WC? Tom Sermanni: Germany obvious favourites. Brazil and US are strong. Any team ranked top 12 are potential dark horse.
FFDU: How valuable an asset as our good friend @spencerprior (assistant coach) been to the set up? Tom Sermanni: Thought it was impossible to replace Hooks (former assistant coach), but @spencerprior has fitted in seamlessly.
mes_sherwood: Who is likely to start up front against Brazil? Tom Sermanni: Still working on combinations.
Tothatsky: Your favourite thing about Germany so far? (apart from the football!) Tom Sermanni: Weather, light nights, good food, great training facilities.
Ed_trinh: How's the general feeling in the girls' camp? Tom Sermanni: Very positive, lots of energy, enthusiasm, and noise. We are the loudest women's national team
There are obviously questions Tom refused to answer such as:
Playarecord: How do I get such a cool looking moustache?
