Kids meet Hyundai A-League heroes in Adelaide
Youngsters in Adelaide got the chance to meet their heroes at TFA summer clinic.
Close to 100 children participated in the event and were able to meet Adelaide United stars Angelo Costanzo, Lucas Pantelis and Dez Geraldi. The children also benfefited from the expertise of local players Fred Agius (Adelaide City), Ivan Karlovic (MetroStars), Steven Grelli (Galaxy), Mark Mulady (Para Hills), 2006 Sergio Melta Medal joint winners Michael Cartwright (Raiders) and Nathan Fleetwood (Campbelltown City), who were present to help conduct the sessions.
“It-s great to have the FFSA Super League players come out to meet the kids and I am particularly pleased to see players that have come through the state teams and South Australian Sports Institute, which is a fantastic grounding and education for any young player that aspires to play at the highest level,” said John Mundy, Community Football Programs Coordinator - SA/WA.
“Adelaide United have as always been very supportive of our community programs and have been the icing on the cake for this tremendous event”, Mundy added.
The FFSA, in conjunction with Telstra Football Anytime created an advanced program for those kids that wanted more of a challenge, which attracted an encouraging number of participants.
“It is reassuring to know that what we are doing at National level is being supported by the State Federations and that we are heading in the same direction for the betterment of the game and it-s participants”, said Mundy.
The Telstra Football Anytime program allows parents to become actively involved in the delivery of the sessions and support their children as they experience the fun and excitement of playing football.
Football Federation Australia acknowledges Football Federation South Australia and Adelaide United FC for their support in conducting the 2007 Telstra Football Anytime Summer Program in South Australia.
