Kewell Goes In For Second Operation Overnight
Qantas Socceroo Harry Kewell has hit another setback in his rehabilitation from a debilitating groin injury, with a Liverpool statement reporting that he went in for a hernia operation overnight.
The club statement said the operation is unrelated to the abductor tear operation he underwent following the Champions League final last May, where he only played 20 minutes before being forced off.
It goes onto say that Harry is expected to be playing again in five to six weeks, which means he will miss the start of the Premiership season.
Meanwhile, returning from injury, striker Dylan Macallister has scored Brann-s third goal in a friendly 4-0 win over Premier League side Birmingham City.
Out with a knee injury since the start of the Norwegian season, Macallister played the entire second half and scored with a curling shot from the edge of the area with 17 minutes remaining in the match.
Birmingham-s Australian international defender Stan Lazaridis was not on tour as he continues his recovery from injuries which plagued during last season-s campaign.
