Football Federation Australia (FFA) have announced the Johnny Warren Football Foundation as a partner of the FFA Skills Acquisition Program (SAP).
Football Federation Australia (FFA) have announced the Johnny Warren Football Foundation as a partner of the FFA Skills Acquisition Program (SAP).
The SAP is a nation-wide joint initiative of the FFA and the Member Federations, supported by the Johnny Warren Football Foundation, set to identify and assemble the most talented Australian 9-13 year old boys and girls in elite programs in order to teach them perfect functional game skills.
“The Skills Acquisition Program is a fantastic step in the evolution of the Australian footballer,” said FFA Technical Director Han Berger.
“The program provides the right type of training for players to get their skills to the appropriate level and offers the functional tools in an effort to develop more elite footballers in Australia.
“To have the Johnny Warren Football Foundation as a partner delivers a fantastic alignment between this program and Johnny-s legacy.”
“The Johnny Warren Football Foundation is extremely proud of this partnership with Football Federation Australia. We are excited to be able to work with the FFA to deliver the National Skills Acquisition Program to improve the technical standard of footballers around Australia,” Jamie Warren, Chairman of JWFF, said.
FFA CEO Ben Buckley, who jointly signed the agreement with JWFF Chairman Jamie Warren, was pleased to have the support of the JWFF for the development of our talented players.
“This partnership is aimed at supporting and nurturing the talents of our many young footballers, both boys and girls, to improve skills to reach the elite level,” said Buckley.
“This deal formerly partners FFA and JWFF to continue to foster the talents of Australian players and provides support to our National Curriculum to stay on course in becoming a world class football nation.
“It was Johnny-s vision that Australia would produce players of world class technical ability to be successful in the international arena and this is a significant step towards achieving this.”
JWFF CEO Lisa Middlebrook reiterated the passion the foundation has in its involvement with the SAP, “Everyone at the Foundation is pleased to see this partnership come together, this type of training was very much part of Johnny-s dream and we-re also excited to see the National Curriculum come to fruition.”
