History was made today when the Foxtel All-Stars Outback Rangers and Kickin’ Koalas both took out their divisions in the U12 Disney Cup International 2014 tournament in Florida.
The Foxtel All-Stars Outback Rangers defeated Dandy Town Youth Academy from Bermuda 3-1 while the Kickin’ Koalas defeated Cordica from Mexico 5-1 in an exciting double header.
This is an outstanding result for both Foxtel All-Stars teams who have only trained together over 3-days and played just 5 matches together including the Final. The U12 budding football stars came together from all over Australia to represent Disney XD, Foxtel and Tim Cahill who teamed up to find and train the players for the competition.
Each of the 20 players performed exceptionally proving too fast, skillful and determined throughout the whole tournament. On the road to the Final the Foxtel All-Stars beat every opponent they played including teams from Columbia, Bermuda, Brazil, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Honduras and the USA. The player’s families have been by their sides to cheer and proudly wave the Australian flag at each game.
Disney XD has been filming the Foxtel All-Stars journey since the initial selection through to the tournament capturing the team’s incredible experiences and victories. They will air a Disney Cup International TV special on 15 August a 6pm (channel 708, only on Foxtel).
