The home side took their slender lead into the break after a strong finish to the half and carried on this positive momentum into the second period.
Just two minutes in, they stunned Wellington with a second goal. Max Bisetto with an audacious, dipping curler from range that nestled in the top right corner.
Heidelberg remained on the hunt to inflict further damage on their A-League opposition and scored a third goal 51 minutes in. James Ngor sprinted down the right and drilled a ball into the box that came out to Yokokawa, who blasted it into the right of the goal.
Wellington worked to try and find a route back into the match, and 71 minutes in, Luke Brooke-Smith sent a close-range lob over the crossbar.
Around five minutes later, Heidelberg goalkeeper Yaren Sozer was called into action twice to parry dangerous crosses behind for corners as the visitors exploited the right flank.
The hosts soaked up this pressure and added an incredible fourth goal courtesy of Chok Dau’s superb strike from the left of the box that found the far right corner.
Dau’s finish confirmed Heidelberg’s place in the Semi Finals; the biggest-ever Cupset in Hahn Australia Cup history.
