The Newcastle Jets have not traditionally been Hahn Australia Cup powerhouses. However, defeating Cup specialists Adelaide United in the Round of 32 may well have sparked a shift in fortunes.
Those will be put to the test against a Macarthur side who look poised to be one of the favourites to defend their Hahn Australia Cup title.
The Jets eased past fellow Northern New South Wales side Cooks Hill United 5-0 in the Round of 16, and most recently shared the spoils with the Western Sydney Wanderers in a pre-season friendly.

Macarthur are yet to face an A-League Men’s side on their 2025 Hahn Australia Cup run, defeating NSW side SD Raiders and NPL SA giants MetroStars to reach this stage of the competition.
Experienced defender and former Melbourne Victory player Damien Da Silva is in line to make his debut for the Bulls in this game after his signing was announced during the week.
The Bulls now have seven Hahn Australia Cup wins on the spin and, after overcoming MetroStars in the Round of 16, their unbeaten run in the Cup stretched to a remarkable 775 days.
