FFA national goalkeeping coaches were recently emailed a summary of goalkeeping research completed by Marina Mateos which was completed with co-operation from HAL/WWL Clubs, to gain access to ten professional goalkeepers.

ESSA ACCREDITATION
In 2014 The Port Adelaide Football Club, led by Port Adelaide Football Club High Performance Manager, and former Socceroo Fitness & Conditioning Coach,Darren Burgess became the first in the current AFL competition to be accredited under industry body Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA).
With the Socceroos Sport Science now being led by 2014 ESSA Sport Scientist of the year Craig Duncan the national team is in a similar position to set the benchmark for best practice standards in football.
