Do you want to work in the biggest participation sport in Australia? FFA, the governing body of football in Australia is seeking a highly motivated and technically strong senior accountant to manage FFA's financial reporting of the 10 Hyundai A-League clubs, be involved in the financial management of Asia Cup 2015 and be a key member of FFA-s finance team.
As the Senior Financial Accountant you will provide accurate and timely consolidated financial reporting and full month end management of Hyundai A-League clubs under the control of FFA and be a business partner and support to the Hyundai A-League clubs.
Location: Sydney CBD
THE ROLE:
• Management reporting, budgeting and forecasting of the finances of the Hyundai A-League clubs. • Business performance analysis and benchmarking work. • Providing dedicated business partnering advice and support to the Hyundai A-League clubs from basic variance analysis to commercial and strategic input • Maintain and manage FFA-s cash flow model. • Management of balance sheet reconciliations ensuring that these are kept up-to-date and are accurate. • Assist with the month end reporting process. • Key role in the annual budgeting process, forecasting of P&L and cash flow and year • end financial reporting. • Assist in the preparation of annual FBT returns. • Manage the outsourced payroll function including the processing and posting of payroll journals. • Manage all payroll related balance sheet accounts including the annual leave and long service leave provision accounts. • Manage FFA-s credit card function including the review of account coding and posting the monthly journal. • Other duties as required by the Financial Controller and CFO.
YOUR BACKGROUND:
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, ideally CPA/CA qualified accountant with a commercial background. • Commercially astute with an ability to think outside of the box and always striving to improve the way that things are currently done. • Sound knowledge of month end account procedures and reporting process. • Strong computer literacy, including advanced Microsoft Excel skills and ideally Great Plains knowledge. • Able to work autonomously and can effectively plan and organise time to meet tight deadlines. • Has a great attention to detail. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. An interest football and sport in general would be desirable. • Results driven, works well within a team environment and is able to leverage relationships with other FFA departments and A League clubs.
