In Focus: Three clubs fly the flag for WA in Round of 32

Western Australia will be well represented in the 2025 Hahn Australia Cup Round of 32, with three clubs flying the flag on the national stage.

A-League Men's side Perth Glory return alongside Olympic Kingsway, while Stirling Macedonia have booked their first appearance in over a decade. 

Each side arrives into the Round of 32 with a different story, from Glory’s dramatic playoff comeback, to Kingsway’s high-scoring run, and Stirling’s long-awaited return.

Stirling Macedonia FC

Home Ground: Macedonia Park

Stirling Macedonia have built their Cup run so far on a sturdy defence, with only one goal conceded over four matches.

The side also scored 10 goals across wins over Forrestfield and Kinsley, before prevailing on penalties against Western Knights.

They secured their place in the Final Rounds by edging past 2023 Round of 32 entrants, Inglewood United.

Stirling Macedonia travel to NPL Victoria high-flyers Avondale for their first Hahn Australia Cup Round of 32 encounter since 2014.

Road to the Round of 32:

  • Hahn Australia Cup Playoffs: Central Coast Mariners 2-3 Perth Glory

The Glory finished at the foot of the 2024/25 A-League Men’s table, setting them up for a Hahn Australia Cup Playoff match with Central Coast Mariners.

Glory prevailed 3-2 over the Mariners, fighting back from two goals down to win the game in extra-time and make the Final Rounds.

The Perth outfit face a distance derby in their Round of 32, welcoming Wellington Phoenix to battle for a place in the next round.

Olympic Kingsway provided ample entertainment on their way to the Final Rounds, emerging victorious in seven-goal and six-goal thrillers against Armadale and Perth FC, respectively.

After winning 3-0 against Subiaco, the side prevailed in a penalty shootout over Balcatta to make their second successive appearance in the Round of 32.

Kingsway kick off their 2025 Cup campaign hosting 2024 Finalists Melbourne Victory.

This will be their second-ever appearance in the Final Rounds of the Australia Cup.
