The Grand Finals of the Dal Ponte Queensland School Futsal titles are getting nearer after almost three weeks of preliminary matches.

Monday the 21st February saw the world-s largest Futsal tournament, the Dal Ponte Queensland School Futsal Titles begin. Near 560 teams, in twelve age groups from ten year old primary to open secondary and including a separate category for special schools, will compete over the following four weeks with the Grand finals played on Friday 18th March at Cornubia Insports in Logan City.

This is followed by regional school tournaments in Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Rockhampton, Hervey Bay, Gold Coast, Toowoomba and Warwick with the total number of teams competing looking to this year exceed the 1100 mark. This equates to around 10,000 players, 1000 coaches and 120 officials involved in the tournament.

The tournament culminates in October when the champion teams of each region come together in Brisbane to play off to be crowned state Champion of Champions. To help the tournament occur, major sponsor Dal Ponte assists country teams with travel expenses and winning teams receive a Dal Ponte Futsal sports gift pack to the value of $500.

State representative city and regional teams are also selected in all twelve age groups to attend the national school titles, this year in Sydney NSW in September.
