New South Wales- Bright Appiah becamethe first player to record a hat-trick at the championships as his side went onthe record a convincing 6-0 win over Tasmania. The three goals now bringingAppiah-s tally to seven goals in the last four games whilst Kevin Ly, SipanBerti and Jordan Nadalin all added to the six goal victory.
Dayfive started with Victoria narrowly defeating the winless ACT courtesy of agoal by Harris Stamboulidis in the 43rd minute. Victoria-s Simon Soumelidisopened the scoring after 12 minutes but the lead was short lived when ACT-sAlex Popovich found the back of the net with a first time strike less than tenminutes later.
Both South Australia and Queenslandkept their national title hopes alive with victories over Northern NSW andWestern Australia respectively.
An early goal from SouthAustralia-s Declan Hamilton in the 11th minute was enough to seal the victorymeanwhile it was a last minute strike from Reece Dalton that pinched the threepoints to the delight of Queenslanders.
In the Girls 14competition, the top of the table clash between New South Wales and Northern NSW finished in a 0-0 draw after neither side could find their way through theopposition backlines. Some solid and bruising goalkeeping ensured that neitherside could claim maximum points or bragging rights in the New South Walesderby.
The ACT recorded their third draw of the championships witha 1-1 fixture against Victoria to start the day. A long range effort from MegMcLaughlin gave the ACT the lead only minutes before half time before HelinaVunderl-Messis levelled the scores only moments after break with a stunningstrike from a wide angle.
South Australia came from behind tonotch their second victory of the championships after Queensland scored firstthrough Sophie Boller in the 14th minute. Unanswered goals from Tahlia McGrathand Kiara Fragomeli in the 23rd and 40th minute completing the comeback asSouth Australia move to two points behind Northern NSW in second.
