Football Federation Australia (FFA) today announced its intention to issue a third Show Cause notice to Perth Glory Football Club in relation to the Hyundai A-League’s Player Contract Regulations (‘salary cap’).
The third notice is in relation to the current season. The alleged breaches involve the failure to disclose reportable benefits and payments in excess of $100,000.
These alleged breaches are in addition to the matters dealt with in the FFA’s determination announced on 10 April 2015 that Perth Glory had deliberately failed to disclose reportable benefits and payments to at least six players, and from the beginning of the current season has been operating in excess of the allowable salary cap of $2.55m in the order of $400,000.
The first Show Cause noticed was issued on 12 February this year and the second on 1 April. As a result of these breaches in the first two Show Cause notices, FFA has determined that Perth Glory will be excluded from the 2015 Hyundai A-League Finals Series and fined $269,000.
The third notice will be issued to Perth Glory no later than Friday 17 April 2015.
