Football Federation Australia (FFA) has appointed Dr Mark Jones as the new head of Medical Services following the departure of Dr Jeff Steinweg.
Dr Jones has worked with FFA in various capacities since 2005 in the Hyundai A-League and National Teams and was most recently the Team Doctor for the Socceroos at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.Dr Jones was also Team Doctor for the Western Sydney Wanderers throughout the 2012/13 and 2013/14 Hyundai A-League seasons.
Dr Jones will oversee all of FFA’s medical programs across all National Competitions and National teams and continue in his role as Team Doctor for the Socceroos.
Dr Steinweg worked with FFA since 2003 and was instrumental in putting together the policies and processes around the Hyundai A-League and Westfield W-League and his contribution was applauded by FFA Head of National Performance Luke Casserly.
