Emily van Egmond has signed with Leicester City in the WSL, making the move from Birmingham City in the WSL2, returning to the top-flight in England.
The midfielder signed for Birmingham City at the end of the 2024/25 season, now completing a. permanent transfer to Leicester City.
Van Egmond signed a two-year contract with the Foxes in the WSL with an additional one-year option on the deal.
“I am really excited to be here and can't wait to get started. I'll bring my experience to the Club and hopefully help the team win games." Van Egmond said to lcfc.com.
"I want to show my mentality and show what it takes to win games in this league. I've been involved in the game for a number of years now and I'm excited to see what we can do together."
Leicester City finished the 2024/25 season in 10th place, recording 5 wins, 5 draws and 12 defeats, and will be hoping the signing of the experienced midfielder will help their chances in the upcoming season.
This marks the midfielder's return to the WSL, after signing with West Ham United in the 2020/21 season, making 21 appearances for the Hammers across her time with the club.
Van Egmond could be set to make her debut for the Foxes in their opening game of the WSL season when they take on Manchester United on Sunday, 7th September at 9:00pm AEST, which fans can watch live on Stan Sports.
