The CommBank ParaMatildas finish as runners-up in the 2025 IFCPF Women's Intercontinental Cup

The CommBank ParaMatildas finish as runners-up in the 2025 IFCPF Women's Intercontinental Cup, after going down 7-1 to the USA in the final.

Head coach Alicia Ferguson made one change to the side that took on the USA just 24 hours prior in the last game before the final, with Lainee Harrison coming into the starting side for Georgia Beikoff.

The USA showed their dominance early, getting through on goals, with Carly Salmon doing well to save the USA's initial shot at goal from Kaia Spencer, but could only parry the shot into the path of Jesslyn Kuhnel.

The USA doubled their advantage through a free-kick from Cassidy Leake, who then added her second of the afternoon to give the USA a three-goal lead.

Ferguson looked to her bench and introduced Australia's top goalscorer, Georgia Beikoff, who almost made an immediate impact off the bench. Picking the ball up deep within her half and making a blistering run through the USA defence, but her shot hit the inside of the post.

Kuhnel had herself a brace in the 12th minute, giving the USA a four-goal advantage. The striker then had her hat-trick in the 18th minute. The USA made it six just before the game, through Kaia Spencer.

Georgia Beikoff clawed a goal back for Australia to start the second half, with Annmarie de Uriarte's ball through the line finding Beikoff, who fired her shot in.

Emma Martin all but sealed the victory for the USA with their seventh of the game, as the CommBank ParaMatildas would finish as runners-up in the 2025 IFCPF Women's Intercontinental Cup Final.
